My office in the new house!

So I wrote in my last post that we moved and I finally have an office. I've wanted one for a really long time. In our old residence, I had a very small desk against the wall in our living room.. Our apartment didn't have much room for this, so when someone wanted to go into the kitchen while I was at my desk, I had to scoot over a bit for them to pass by. Yep... not cool at all. Also, my bulletin board, printer, and bookshelves with my resource books were in my bedroom.

Anyway, here is a sneak peek at my office! Guess what? I even have a fireplace. Don't get excited. I live in Phoenix, Arizona and WILL. NOT. USE. IT! But it looks cool.

So here is a glimpse of the "before". After I unpack I'll post the after ;) It might motivate me a little more hehe.

We moved into the middle of a residential neighborhood in north Phoenix. The funny part of that is we have a  mini-mountain in our back yard. We have a huge backyard that goes up this mountain. The yard is plain right now but it's still 113 degrees outside so I don't spent much time out there. I will be buying some cool lawn furniture for cool days writing outside.

You might be thinking: Dang. A bunch of dirt and a rocky hill. So what? I grew up in Portland, Oregon and love the difference that the desert provides me. Yep. I really like this rocky hill. This picture was taken right outside of the sliding glass door. I stand here every morning and watch the sun rise.

I wanted the bedroom that looks out at the mountain, but that room was too small. Here is my new view which isn't so bad, huh? By the way, I loooove palm trees.

Talk to you soon,
Wendy

  2. Congrats! You can always either get the fake logs that don't put off any heat, or just put a few candles in the fireplace so that it is pretty but not hot. I do love the long mantle though.
