Sneak Peek at Finding Home, Desert Secrets Book 4

Hey, all of you Desert Secrets readers, I have a treat for you! Here's a sneak peek of the final book in the Desert Secrets Series. Let me tell you, Bailey Roan is a blast to write, but I'm kind of sad to see this series end. Remember, this book hasn't been to the editor yet.  If you want to get started on the series, you can find it here!

They all walked out the living room and Bailey stopped in her tracks just inside the living room’s entrance. No freaking way. There, in the middle of her room, stood Zane Alder. All six feet with some inches added, of him taking her personal space. Of all actors to come to her house, why him? She hated reading his articles, turned the channel if they had an update about him on TV, and refused to watch one of his movies. Okay, she’d watched about ten minutes of one long ago. Really, she didn’t even know why she disliked him so much. She just had a feeling about him. While most women would be enthralled by his appearance, Bailey found herself disgusted. Maybe she shouldn’t have signed up for this gig.
“Bailey,” Lance said, finally noticing her standing by the entrance. He rushed over to her with his arms open wide for a hug. “It’s been too long.”
Bailey stepped into Lance’s embrace and let herself feel comforted by her best friend’s ex-husband event though a slice of guilt stabbed at her heart. He gave her a gentle squeeze.
“Excuse me,” Zane interrupted, signaling that he had business to contend to with Lance. “I’m hot, sticky, and dehydrated. Not to mention that we’re supposed to start filming in thirty minutes.”
“I know, Zane. We’ll get you taken care of before we start filming. I promise.”
Bailey stepped toward and held out her hand. “Nice to meet you,” she said and introduced herself to Zane. Eddie and Roy were already connecting cables and they’d been the only ones to take a tour of her house. She might as well be responsible in showing the actors around. “I can show you where you can freshen up.”
Take a step backward, he glared at her. His arms were folded tightly across his chest. “Who are you?”
Who was she? Is this guy serious? Bailey Roan, the owner of this house that he’d be using for who knew how long. She tamped down the flaring anger over this man’s rude behavior before saying, “I’m the owner of this house. Would you like me to show you the bathrooms or do you prefer to stand there and stink?” Triumph filled her as she stared at his shocked face. Lance chuckled. “Well?” she asked.

Only 99 cents!

Midnight Secrets is only .99!  Grab a copy while you can here!
Will Miguel’s whispered midnight promises ever see the light of day?

Content with her job as small town waitress and role of single mom, Allison believes she's better off without a man. In her opinion, all they bring is chaos - and that includes the father of her child. So why has Miguel’s arrival shaken her so badly?

It's not easy for Allison to keep Miguel a secret with someone poisoning the food in her bakery and the local sheriff believing she harbors a vendetta against the town because of her tormented past. And then there are the people waiting for her to screw up with the kids. The control Allison has always kept on her life is slipping out of her grasp.

Allison is always upfront with Miguel. There isn't anything she hides from him. Miguel wishes he could say the same. The one thing that Miguel has hidden could be the very secret that drives Allison straight from his arms.

Keeping their secrets and clearing Allison's name just might be harder than either of them have ever imagined.

So In Love....

I was giving myself until March 1st to finish up Finding Home, Desert Secrets Book 4, and then doing round 1 of revisions for Off the Ropes. I hit a snag... I'm so in love with the Finding Home story that I don't want to set it aside for revisions of the other book. No matter which way I go, I plan on releasing both books this year. Stay tuned for my decision.

One thing is for sure, nothing beats a good love story!

My Sexy Saturday- Confessions

Who wants to go for a swim with a sexy hero? I sure do!! Check out Confessions in the Passionate Kisses Boxed Set. You find the set of 10 full length books here!

Jordan swam in the pool. His muscles tensed with each stroke slicing through the water. For moment she stood there mesmerized by the sight of him. Oh, he was so sexy.

Not wanting to get caught staring at him, she walked over to the pool steps and went down until the water barely reached her thighs. She took a place on the top step and opened her book while she held the gel pack with her other hand. She read the first sentence under the chapter one heading before her eyes turned back to Jordan, who was swimming the length of the pool. His taut back muscles were barely visible underneath the water, but the sight of him made her intimate areas grow hot anyway. The urge was so powerful she could barely sit still on the step.

“This is torture,” she whispered without meaning to. But it was. Watching the sexy man move smoothly through the water, with the droplets glistening on his tanned skin, and not being able to touch him tortured her. He looked up at her, then ducked his head back under the water.

She tried to ignore him coming closer to her. It worked for the most part until she felt his strong hands slide up her bare thighs. She squirmed away from him and pretended to be focused on her book.

“Your bikini looks great.”

Fantasy Casting- Chelsea Montgomery!

I'm so excited to post this!

Here are the "call backs" for the fantasy casting for The Desert Secrets Series.

Chelsea Montgomery is a petite red-head. Here are the call backs for the fantasy role of Chelsea Montgomery.

Karen pictured her as Rooney Mara. Rooney didn't get the role because I felt she is too thin.

When writing Chelsea's character, Amy McAdams came to mind.

But then Crystal sent in Isla Fisher! Isla totally fits the role of Chelsea!

Up next is the role of Danielle Montgomery. She is more exotic looking with wavy dark hair and tan skin. she has curves in all of the right places. Send in pictures of Danielle Montgomery by Friday so the casting call can be announced on Saturday!

You can buy The Desert Secrets Series here: Confessions, Book 1

You haven’t been around me for ten years.”

“But I still know you. Nothing you say can change that, so quit your lying and tell me what’s on your mind.”

She had to lie or she would end up upstairs naked underneath his bulky tanned body. “Nothing. I’m reading.”

“Put the book down.”

“Hold on. This is an interesting part,” she said. As if she had comprehended a single word she had read. She couldn’t even think straight with his hands kneading her flesh. She could feel them working their way up to the edge of her bikini bottoms.

“Come on,” he urged.

His fingers play with the hem of the bottoms. The more his hands explored her body, the more distracted she became. “Nope,” she replied with a shake of her head. Her eyes continued to stay on the page even though her mind was totally on him. If she looked up, she would turn to putty in his hands.

Fantasy Casting for the Desert Secrets Series!

I've always dreamed of having one of my books made into a movie. No offers have been made yet, so I'm doing a fantasy casting and I need your help. No purchase is required. I'm providing the characters' description below and the book links at the bottom. What actors would fit these roles?

The females:

Chelsea Montgomery: red hair, fair complexion, petite, in her late twenties. She wears glasses on occasion.
Allison Montgomery: blonde, athletic, medium build. Also in her twenties. She is a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl.
Bailey Roan: Dark blonde/light brown hair, medium build, is a trend setter.
Lisa Palmer: dark shoulder length hair, in her late twenties/early thirties. She is your typical soccer-mom.

The males:

Jordan Case: tall, muscular, tan, dark wavy hair. He works in construction.
Miguel Perez: Hispanic, spiked hair, also works in construction, dark hair and eyes.
Seth Brite: Short light brown hair, glasses, medium build, and is a true crime author.
Zane Alder: Dark straight hair, tanned skin, muscular, nice smile, and is a movie star.

Here is what you do:

  • Email me pictures of actors/actresses who you think would fit these roles in the fantasy movie of each book. My email is authorwendyely@gmail.com.
  • I'll decide on the "call back" who could play the part. If you get the "call back" card, I'll post your chosen actor picture on my blog and I'll send you some swag.
  • The final round of actors will be picked and the grand prizes will be announced at that time. It'll be a great stuff.
I'm posting the first round of call backs for CHELSEA next Saturday, so hurry. Send in those actress pictures! You have to live in the US to get the swag pack. Don't worry, distant friends, if you're out of the country you can pick any one of my published ebooks!

I'm Upset!

I hurried out of bed this morning with one thing on my mind... writing! With everyone still fast asleep, I made coffee, grabbed my laptop and started going through my files, looking for the one manuscript I wanted to work on... Lost and Found, Desert Secrets book 3. And then I noticed the date that I had started the story. Ready for this? January 1st of 2010! I've been working on this one single book off and on for 3 years. My readers have been waiting for this book for 3 years!  I know they have because I get emails. Sigh.

It's time to finish that book already...

If you want to get hooked on another series, try out Confessions. You can find it here. Midnight secrets is the 2nd book in the series.

My Sexy Saturday: Confessions

What is sexy? Passion comes to my mind when I think of that question and I'm going to show you with an excerpt from Confessions. After you read this, check out the rest of the authors' posts by clicking the links at the bottom.

Confessions:

She shot up from the couch. “Forget? You think I can forget you? Look at this.” She undid the zipper on her jeans to reveal the tattoo. “Remember this? I can never forget you with this branding on me! I can’t even look in the damn mirror without remembering!”

“I hope it haunts you like it did me for ten years.” His voice lowered but didn’t lose an ounce of anger. “I didn’t know what happened to you. I didn’t know if someone abducted you, or if I did something wrong to make you leave.” His arms crossed over his chest. The anger seemed to be dissolving a bit with each word. “I lay awake at night wondering where you were and what you were doing right at that moment. Every damned night, Chelsea.”

“I’m so sor—Oh, never mind.” She turned to go back to her chair but the heat of his hand on her shoulder stopped her. She covered it with her own. His fingers entwined with hers.

“I know you’re sorry,” he whispered. “I accept your apology.”

She turned toward him. She put her hands on his chest and fingered his wet t-shirt. “Take this off. You’re going to get sick.”

“I don’t care.” He wiped his tears away. “The only things I care about are you and Elizabeth.”

She moved her hand off his shoulder to pull his shirt up over his head so he wouldn’t be cold anymore. He might not care if he got sick, but she did. Before she knew it, her lips were against his moist flesh. She kissed his shoulder and then moved down his chest. She let her mouth nibble gently as she moved all the way down his abs to the waistband of his jeans.

Six Sentence Sunday- Confessions

As soon as her knuckles hit the wood, the door swung open. Dark eyes widened with surprise. He stepped into the door frame. Dressed in a pair of jeans, shirtless, and his curly hair still wet from a shower, she couldn’t help but admire him as a man and not the boy he’d been when she left. The scent of aftershave and soap wafted out. No cologne. Just deliciously clean.

New Year's Blog Hop!

I'm giving away 1 ebook copy of Jesse's Brother and 1 ebook copy of Confessions. To enter my giveaway and for the bigger prizes: Leave me a comment with your email address and your choice of books.

So it's 2013! I'm really excited to start this new year. 2012 started out to be a really hard one and ended up being fantastic.

How did you celebrate? Dan and I were going to attend a party but with us both being sick last week, we decided to have a casual night at home in our pajamas. We recently started watching True Blood and had a marathon while drinking chocolate wine we received as a gift for Christmas. I actually stayed awake to watch the clock tick down to that magical moment the clock strikes midnight.

One good thing about this year is that I'll have some new releases. Watch out for Dangerous Flames (January) and A Final Kiss (February). Late in 2013: Jesse's Girl (the sequel to Jesse's Brother) and Lost and Found, Desert Secrets Book 3.

From Jesse's Brother:

Getting involved with someone was complicated enough, but with the boss’s daughter? Probably not a good idea. The fact that Frances hated the very air he breathed made the situation worse.

“I never take the easy road,” he grumbled as he wiped the sweat trickling down his cheek.

What was Samantha doing now? His eyes switched over to the door. It would be nice if she’d come down to the barn.

Now available on Kindle and in paperback http://amzn.com/e/B008SA6TJK

Now Chelsia has been diagnosed with a rare form of bladder cancer and Wendy wants to help!
